Debating success College-wide 🎙️ 

Brooklyn Park has reached the debating semi-finals for the first time in history!

Two Year 6 Brooklyn Park Teams competed in the debating quarter finals last week and one team has progressed to the Debate SA semi-finals!

This is the first time in history that an Emmaus Brooklyn Park Team has reached this stage, so it is a fantastic achievement for the students involved. 

The South Plympton Year 7 Orange and Year 9 Gold debating teams qualified for the quarter finals and debated last week. 

Well done to the Year 9 Team, who qualified for the semi-finals again! Congratulations!

Australian Mathematics Competition Award Winners

On Monday, 17 students from Year 4-6 were awarded certificates of high distinction, distinction, credit, and proficiency for their achievement in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC). 

AMC is Australia’s longest-running, largest and most well-known maths competition for school students.

Oliphant Science Awards Poster Submissions

Sixteen Junior School students tackled the 2026 Oliphant Science Awards poster competition. 

Here is how they brought their creative vision to life while keeping to the entry requirements:

• Picked a Stellar Title: Students chose from official topics like Everyday Chemistry, Space Watchers, or Pollinators in Action, making sure their chosen prompt was clearly displayed right on the poster.
• Mastered Single-Idea Storytelling: Rather than cluttering their boards, they focused on communicating one powerful scientific message using eye-catching artwork and minimalist text - aiming for under 25 words so their visuals could do the talking!
• Crafted Solitary Masterpieces: Every student worked completely independently, bringing their own original ideas, hand-drawn natural history illustrations, or computer-assisted graphic collages to life.
• Wrote the Behind-the-Scenes Report: On the back of their entries, students attached a ~100-word written statement outlining their core message.
