Science Week Celebrations

While our fantastic production La Música Viajera, meant we celebrated a little later than the official Science Week, our students still dove into this year's theme Seeds of Science with plenty of hands-on learning.

Prep and 1/2 students got creative with paper folding and decorating by crafting their own paper flowers. They then placed them in water and watched in delight as the petals slowly unfurled, blooming like magic right before their eyes.

Grade 3/4 explored different ways plants grow by learning how to take cuttings. They propagated their own mint plants, which they'll take home to nurture and grow.

Grade 5/6 students investigated the science of food preservation, learning how pickling works as they made their own batch of pickled cucumbers to take home and enjoy.

It was a fantastic week of curiosity, creativity, and hands-on science in action. A big congratulations and thank you to our Science Week Committee members Sunday, Leyla, Hazel, Charlotte and Anita for all their hard work in preparing and running the celebrations!
