CHS Athletics Carnival - Sydney Olympic Park

In Week 8, a group of our talented students represented Inverell High School at the CHS Athletics Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park in Homebush. Mrs Lansdowne accompanied our team, and everyone showed great spirit, even in some windy conditions. The students loved competing on the brand new track and thought the striped lane colours were pretty cool!

NSW Netball Schools Cup Regional Finals

On Friday 11th September, two busloads of our Year 7–10 students travelled to Tamworth Sports Dome to represent Inverell High School at the Regional Finals of the NSW Netball Schools Cup. The competition brought together some of the strongest school netball teams from across the region, providing our students with the opportunity to test themselves against quality opposition and compete at a high level. With four teams taking to the court throughout the day, it was fantastic to see our students representing the school with enthusiasm, sportsmanship and pride.

All four teams showed plenty of grit, determination and teamwork throughout a series of hard-fought games. Our 7/8 girls, 7/8 boys and 9/10 girls were all challenged by strong opposition and demonstrated great resilience with each team finishing the day with two well-earned wins.

Our 9/10 boys went through their pool games undefeated before meeting Armidale Secondary College in the final. With huge support from the sideline, the boys played a fast-paced and highly competitive game. After finding themselves behind at half-time, they fought their way back into the contest to secure a draw at the final buzzer.

Kayden R, Callum W and Murray B provided some great defensive work in the goal circle, while Corban W took control of the court in centre, with excellent support from Harry H and Toby M on the wings. Some tactical play and Kobe H and Nate B's shooting prowess proved crucial, securing the win for Inverell High School in extra time. This result sees our 9/10 boys progress to the NSW Netball Schools Cup State Finals in Sydney in November.

HSC Dance Showcase

On September 16th, our HSC Dance Showcase was an amazing celebration of talent and dedication at Inverell High School.

A huge thank you to our incredible teachers, especially Mrs Alexander, our supportive families, and everyone who joined us to cheer on our dancers. Your support means the world!

We’re so proud of all our students and their accomplishments throughout their HSC Dance journey. We can’t wait to see where their passion and hard work take them next.

AFL Gala Day Armidale

Our AFL boys had an amazing day at the Armidale Gala Day on Tuesday 22nd September. The 9/10 boys showed great determination in narrow losses to Macintyre and Farrer, while our 7/8 team dominated with a fantastic 35-15 win over Farrer.

Well done to all the players for their hard work, sportsmanship, and team spirit. We're proud of you all.

Sports Power Inverell Support

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sports Power Inverell for their incredible support of our 7s Rugby teams, who competed at the State Finals in Week 7 this term. Sports Power Inverell generously provided our players with training shirts, socks, and hats, making sure they looked and felt their best on and off the field.
