PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

As another busy term comes to an end, I would like to congratulate our students and staff on their efforts and achievements throughout the term and acknowledge several important milestones within our school community.

Year 12 Graduation and Charity Week

Congratulations to our Year 12 students on their graduation today. It was a significant and emotional occasion as 52 students walked through the gates of Inverell High School for the final time as official students.

Their final week at school has been our traditional Charity Week, and I could not have been more pleased with the way the students worked together as a collective to support their chosen charity, the Inverell Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA).

Throughout the year, Year 12 students have worked tirelessly to raise funds to assist the VRA with the purchase of valuable life-saving equipment. It is particularly pleasing to see our students giving back to an organisation whose volunteers provide such an important service to the Inverell community.

Tuesday evening saw our students take over the service area at McDonald’s Inverell for a special fundraising evening. The generosity of the owners in providing this opportunity is a wonderful testament to their commitment to supporting local young people and the broader Inverell community.

On Wednesday, the famous annual Year 12 Car Wash was held at Goodyear Autocare Inverell. Our students worked tirelessly throughout the day and raised more than $3,500. With prices of $10 for a small car, $15 for a 4WD and $20 for a larger vehicle, that represents an extraordinary number of vehicles washed! Thank you to Goodyear Autocare Inverell for once again supporting this important Year 12 tradition.

Wednesday was also a wonderful demonstration of the generosity of the wider Inverell community. An enormous number of local businesses donated exceptional prizes for the evening auction, which raised more than $6,500. The support shown by our local businesses, families and community members was outstanding, and on behalf of our Year 12 students and Inverell High School, I sincerely thank everyone who contributed.

Our Year 12 students can now turn their attention to their upcoming HSC examinations. We wish all 52 students every success in their examinations and, more importantly, in whatever pathway they choose to pursue beyond Inverell High School. Congratulations, Year 12, and thank you for the contribution you have made to our school.

Year 11 Examinations

Congratulations also to our Year 11 students, who have completed their yearly examinations. They will commence their Year 12 HSC studies early to midway through next term, marking the beginning of an important final stage of their secondary education.

Well done to all students on completing their Year 11 courses, and we look forward to supporting them as they begin their HSC journey.

Farewell and Thank You

As the term comes to an end, it is also with some sadness that we farewell two valued members of the Inverell High School staff.

We thank Mr Todd Gentle, who has served our school for the past four years, and Mrs Georgina Rogers, who has contributed an outstanding 16 years of service to Inverell High School.

Both staff members have made positive contributions to our school and to the students, colleagues and families with whom they have worked. We sincerely thank Todd and Georgina for their commitment and service to Inverell High School and wish them every success and happiness in their future endeavours.

Finally, I would like to thank our students, staff, parents, carers and wider community for their support throughout another busy and productive term.

I wish everyone a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming our students back for another great term. 4th Term starts for students on Tuesday 13th October 2026.
