Grandparents play a pivotal role in the lives of children, offering a unique blend of love, wisdom, and stability. Their presence has a profound impact on a child’s emotional and social development, providing a strong sense of security and unconditional love. This nurturing environment helps children feel valued and supported, fostering confidence, resilience, and overall wellbeing. The bond between grandparents and grandchildren is often characterised by patience and understanding, offering comfort and reassurance, particularly during challenging times.
Grandparents are also a rich source of knowledge and life experience. Through stories, traditions, and shared moments, they help children develop a deeper understanding of their heritage and family history. This connection to the past nurtures a strong sense of identity and belonging. The wisdom and guidance they provide can also support children in developing a thoughtful and compassionate outlook on the world.
We warmly acknowledge and celebrate the invaluable contributions grandparents and special friends make in enriching the lives of our students and strengthening the fabric of our community.
On Thursday, 11 June, we look forward to welcoming grandparents and those who take on this special role within families and our wider community to our beautiful school. The afternoon will begin with a classroom visit at 2:00pm, followed by light refreshments in the Glasshouse from 2:30pm to 3:15pm.

Pre-Kinder families will enjoy a slightly different format, warmly inviting grandparents and special friends to join them in the morning on Wednesday, 10 and Thursday, 11 June. This will be a lovely opportunity for the children to share a glimpse of their school day, proudly show their learning environment, and enjoy engaging in familiar activities together, followed by a light morning tea. We very much look forward to welcoming our special visitors to Pre-Kinder for this meaningful time together.

Students and staff in the Junior School are looking forward to an evening of lively entertainment on Thursday, 11 June at our annual Performing Arts evening. All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will be performing this spectacular event. The Performing Arts evening is a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to enjoy a variety of entertainment.

We warmly invite you to attend the Douglas House Church Service being held on Sunday, 14 June at Orange Uniting Church, 217 Anson Street starting at 9:30am. This will be an enjoyable time, gathering together and strengthening ties between the Orange Uniting Church congregation and Kinross Wolaroi School as a Uniting Church School.

This year our Year 6 Leaders voted to support Ronald McDonald House Orange and have identified ways that they would like their House to support this worthy cause. Students are expected to donate to their specific House Project but are welcome to donate to the other House Projects as well.
