U13 White

The U13 All-girls White team has had a great start of season, showing great teamwork and skills. In Week 4, the girls had a great win, defeating the waratah knights 4-1. Shout-out to the goal scorers, Elsie GR, Ellie B, Lara H and Sophia M. In the match, Kinross Wolaroi was dominant, with the ball being played mostly in the other team’s half, and there were many close shots, showing our determination and hard work. Coach Bonnie is really making a difference with the team always working hard at practice.

U13 – Blue

The Blues have been in excellent form this season. They are currently 2nd on the ladder with four wins and one draw. The passing has been slick and the defense has been excellent only letting in five goals all season.  The intensity at training has been excellent and the circular passing drill is becoming faster and more accurate each time MIC Mr Smedley sees it.

U14

The 14’s have had a tough start to the season but have been improving immensely. Three of their games have only been lost by one goal and the loss against Blayney was heartbreaking with the Blayney keeper making two amazing saves in the last moments to then clear the ball to the other end and a fluke goal occur. The team welcomes back Oli Cochrane from his time at Barcelona and we hope the Barca passing and movement inspire the team.

U15/16

After a slow start to the season the team has started to find some form. The last two games have been victories with 3-1 and 9-1 being the scores. With the defense tightening up and the players who have joined from last years U14’s now becoming entrenched in the team the future looks bright.

2nds

After a bright start to the season the reality of playing against men each weekend is starting to set in. With both Millthorpe and Waratahs teams who have played together for years it was their experience which helped them out. New players Fergus Whittle and Flynn Jones are finding their feel quickly and the other Year 11 boys are starting to enjoy the physicality of the games. The passing and trust in each other is getting better each week with Mr Smedley smelling a victory this weekend.

1sts

The 1sts keep making life hard for the opposition. With three wins from the four games so far this season and a total of 14 goals scored the juggernaut keeps rolling on. The defense has been solid and the midfield three has not put a foot wrong. The attack is really starting to click with Nick Wood a standout so far this season. The passing, speed and a determination to play the Kinross way has led to most teams in the division fearing the boys. Big shout out to Mr Willis who is making sure the intensity of the games is replicated in their training.

Rowing

Congratulations to 2026 Captain of Boats, Lucy Reidy, on her selection in the Australian Under 19B Rowing Team set to compete at the 2026 International Rowing Challenge, hosted by USRowing.

Lucy will depart Australia on 1 July, with the regatta taking place in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The event will bring together emerging rowing talent from Europe, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand for a week of high-calibre international competition.

Lucy has already commenced preparations for the tour, training diligently through the Orange winter. Her selection is a wonderful reward and recognition for the hard work, discipline, and commitment she has consistently demonstrated throughout her rowing journey and contributions to Kinross Rowing. Lucy also becomes the first junior national rowing representative from Kinross Wolaroi School since 2021.

Congratulations, Lucy, and best wishes as you represent both Australia and Kinross Wolaroi School on the international stage. A fundraising page has been established to support Lucy’s campaign. Families or community members wishing to contribute are encouraged to contact MIC Rowing, Mr Ben Watt.

It has been a great start to the hockey season so far, and I have been impressed with the dedication and commitment players have demonstrated during both training and games. After the first few rounds, we have had some excellent results across all age groups, and coaches have been pleased with the development players are showing across the grades.

As the colder and wetter weather approaches, could all players please ensure they are wearing the correct uniform to all training sessions and matches. As our fields are all-weather surfaces, training will often continue in wet conditions, so it is important that players come prepared for rain at both training and games.

Please note that white or navy long-sleeve tops may be worn underneath playing shirts during matches if needed.

Last weekend, we had six girls representing Orange at the NSW Under 18 State Championships: Phoebe Hunter, Abbie Lyons, Chloe Provost, Isabelle Provost and Clare Wood. Congratulations to the girls on finishing 4th in NSW - an outstanding achievement.
