Respect, responsibility and kindness

School Wide Positive Behaviour Supports (SWPBS)

Term 2 Focus: Kindness

At Bendigo Primary School, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive and positive learning environment for all students through our School Wide Positive Behaviour Supports (SWPBS) framework.

This term, our whole-school focus is Kindness. We are encouraging students to live this value every day through our kindness mantra, "Kind Words, Kind Actions."

As part of our SWPBS lessons, students have been learning what kindness looks, sounds and feels like in different settings across the school. Classes have begun exploring:

  • Understanding kindness
  • Using kind words
  • Keeping our hands and feet to ourselves
  • Including others
  • Solving problems kindly
  • Showing kindness through helping others
  • Using kindness online

These lessons help students develop positive relationships, empathy, respect and responsibility for their actions. By teaching and reinforcing these behaviours, we are supporting students to make positive choices and contribute to a caring school community.

Families can support our learning at home by talking about ways to show kindness each day, encouraging the use of kind words, and discussing how kindness can be demonstrated both in person and online. Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to nurture a culture of Kind Words, Kind Actions throughout our school.
