General Information & Reminders

In Term 1, students will consolidate and develop reading skills and strategies they have learned at school by reading at home for approximately 20 minutes each day. Parents should use the reading guide sent home with your child when engaging in book talk. Students will shortly have access to levelled take-home readers which they will swap over daily.

Students will be able to further consolidate their learning through a range of digital platforms including:

  • Nessy which is a digital learning tool. It encompasses a series of reading and spelling game based interactive tasks to challenge and extend students with a focus of reading.
  • Cengage a series of engaging books available online via the website.
  • PMe Collection (https://app.pmecollection.com.au/bookshelf).
  • Matific which is a digital learning tool. It provides further opportunities for students to build a deeper conceptual understanding of various mathematics skills.

All platforms require individual logins which are located in your child’s password book. Please use these resources when appropriate as they provide a varied approach to engaging children in Literacy and Maths in different ways.
