A warm welcome to new and existing families to Sport at Great Southern Grammar  in 2024. 

Swimming Carnivals

We start the year with our Interhouse Swimming Carnivals on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 14 February – Years Seven to Nine
  • Wednesday 28 February – Years Ten to Twelve
  • Thursday 14 March – Years Three to Six

Performance in these carnivals will determine selection for representation at Interschool events:

  • Tuesday 19 March – Years Seven to Twelve
  • Wednesday 27 March – Years Four to Six

More information, including the carnival formats, will be released shortly. 

Tennis

We are excited to continue our after-school tennis program with Albany Tennis Academy Coach, Mr Nelson Stanborough.  This will commence in Week Three on Monday 12 February, 3.30pm to 4.30pm. An opportunity to register will be emailed to families of students in Years Seven to Twelve next week.

 

GSSSSA Interschool Events

We will soon be calling for expressions of interest for students to represent GSG in the following Great Southern Secondary School Sports Association Events:

  • Twenty20 Cricket Carnival - Years Ten to Twelve
  • AFL Senior Carnival – Years Ten to Twelve

Country Week

One of the most exciting events on any country school’s sporting calendar is the School Sports WA Country Week, which is held in Perth during the last week of Term Two (Sunday 23 June – Friday 28 June).  Students in Years Ten to Twelve and their families will soon receive more information, including nominations, trials, and estimated cost. 

 

In 2023 GSG was the proud Champion of Tier Two.  This year, we hope to take more teams and qualify for Tier One, and endeavour to be Champions at the highest level.
