Principal's Report

Welcome back to another exciting year at Suzanne Cory High School. As we embark on this journey together, I extend a warm welcome to returning families and an equally warm welcome to the new students and families joining our vibrant community. A new year is always a time of change, which brings with it the opportunity to build new connections and embrace new challenge.

"The secret to change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new." – Socrates

The start of the term has been marked by a series of key events that showcased the incredible spirit and camaraderie within our school community. Our Swimming Sports and Athletics events were fantastic displays of talent, determination, and sportsmanship. I am immensely proud of all our students who participated and represented their houses with passion and pride. The sea of colours and the cheers echoing across the fields truly embodied the essence of teamwork and unity. On the field, and in the pool, students demonstrated exceptional athleticism and sportsmanship, pushing their limits, and striving for excellence. In the stands students demonstrated respect for all competitors, support for their team and amazing house spirit.  These events not only fostered healthy competition but also provided valuable opportunities for our students to develop important life skills such as resilience, teamwork, and perseverance.

Another regular feature of term one, our annual 'Meet the Teachers' evening was a resounding success. It provided a wonderful opportunity for parents to connect with their child's home group teacher, fostering strong partnerships between home and school. Building these connections is crucial in ensuring the holistic development and well-being of our students, and I encourage parents to continue to actively engage in their child's education journey in our upcoming parent-teacher conferences later this term.

As we look ahead, there is much to anticipate and celebrate. Our school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We will continue to uphold our core values of respect, aspiration and contribution whilst guiding our students to become compassionate global citizens and lifelong learners. I express my sincere gratitude to our entire school community for your ongoing support and commitment to our shared vision of academic excellence and personal growth. Together, we will make this year a remarkable and rewarding experience for all.
