Building our Community

Upcoming Community Events

The school year for 2024 has been back in full swing, the school ground is full of happy children playing and laughing. Children are reconnecting with their peers and creating new connections. Such a vital life skill we all need to thrive. How are you as a parent or grandparent going with the children back at school? Do you love it, or do you miss them?

God has created us to fellowship with others, whether we are an introvert or extrovert we all need that someone or someone's we can connect and talk too.

MECS has always had a large warm community, we try and create times where you can meet other parents you may connect with. All three of my children have come through the MECS Kindergarten which has the perfect space (piazza) to meet with other parents whilst dropping off your Kinder aged child.

Along with the normal pick up and drop off at the Prep rooms, the Prep parents will have their own Morning Tea after they drop their child off in the undercover area under their rooms on Friday 9 February. A time to meet other parents over tea or coffee.

Wednesday 14 February is another date you will want to save if you have a child in MP or SP. Every family will bring their own tea, picnic rug and or chairs and join in with the other parents to reconnect and make new connections. We will also have a coffee van and ice-cream van for us to enjoy.

Saturday 17 February will be our first Working Bee with a BBQ breakfast to kick it off. Another opportunity for families of all ages to work together and get to know other families in our MECS community.

If you are new to our community and could do with a meal due to sickness or different situations or would like to connect with other families please do not hesitate to email me on jtaylor@mecs.vic.edu.au. I would love to help where I can or point you in the right direction of someone who can.

Colossians 3:14: "And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
