Welcome to 2024!
And a special welcome to the new families!
What a year this is set out to be - the 2024 calendar is almost full already.
The Parents and Friends committee (P&F) is a voluntary group with the objective of being the vital link between the school and the families and to provide a social environment, promoting friendships amongst the school community. We achieve this through clear communication of events and organising a number of social events at class, year and whole school level.
The P&F Committee also raises funds throughout the year through various fundraising activities to purchase equipment, resources and activities that benefit and enhance the children’s time at school. Each year level is allocated an event to run; this may have a focus on community and/or fundraising.
Last year we managed to raise over $45,000! With that money we upgraded the grassy steps, supported Italian Day, provided support to the whole school production and much more.
Your Year level reps are your support network and will provide you with updates via email and the group level What’s App.
Here is a summary of the Term 1 dates and other major events to pop in the diary:
Monday February 5th: Preps to commence
Tuesday February 6th: P&F meeting
Friday Feb 9th: Open morning - classrooms open for you to come in and the children can show you their desk / lockers etc. Details to follow.
Feb 12-16: Year 6 Camp
Feb 13th: Shrove Tuesday
March 7th & 8th: School closure days
March 19 & 21: Parent Teacher meetings
March 22: House Athletics
March 23rd: P&F Annual fundraiser: Bogan Bingo
March 25th: School Photos
March 28th: Last day of Term 9:30am Mass followed by colour run. All students dismissed at 1pm
Our first whole school event is Shrove Tuesday.
This is one of the children’s favourite days as we all eat pancakes before school outside of the hall.
Your reps will be sending out information regarding this very fun and delicious event.
