Celebrating our Education Support Staff

Last week, we celebrated Education Support Staff Day, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful work they all do.

We took a day to recognise and thank our amazing team of integration aides, administrative staff, librarians, kitchen-garden leaders and other support staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our school runs smoothly.

Our Education Support Staff are the unsung heroes of our school community, providing essential support to our teachers, students, and families. They often go above and beyond to ensure every child receives the care and attention they need. From assisting in classrooms and preparing resources to managing school events and providing administrative support, our Education Support Staff are the backbone of our school.

Last week's celebration was a small token of our appreciation for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to our school community. All teachers contributed to personalised frames celebrating the attributes that we most appreciate about each individual.

I would like to extend my gratitude once again to our incredible Education Support Staff for all that they do. They truly make a difference in the lives of our students and are valued members of our school community.

Thank you again for your hard work and dedication.

Community Connections

One of the parts of being a school leader I love is the connections I get to make with our school families. Stopping for a chat in the morning, learning about what is going on in your lives, and taking that time to really connect is so important. I know this is not something unique to me, but a really important part of the job for all of our staff members.

As a teacher I was always keenly aware that the trusting relationships I built with families led to greater student engagement, safety, and academic achievement. We all want to feel a part of a community and when parents are connected, students thrive.

Our Open Night was such a great example of this. Families coming to school in the evening, having fun together, learning together, and connecting with our staff. Everyone leads such busy lives, and I am always appreciative of the effort that Kalinda families make to be at these events.

I am also greatly looking forward to connecting with parents at our upcoming School Trivia Night. Through having fun together, connections are formed, lifelong friendships are made and our school community flourishes. Through these connections, families can also support each other in times that they need it most.

A huge thank you to our Parents and Friends for supporting our Open Night and  the Trivia Night. Your contribution to supporting these deep connections is very important and makes a real impact.
