Book fair is coming
This much-anticipated event will take place from Monday, May 13th until Friday, May 17th (Education Week). Every morning before school and every afternoon after school, the Kalinda library will be open for families to peruse and purchase a huge range of wonderful new books, ranging from picture books and activity books to non-fiction and of course the latest chapter book series.
The library will also be open for book sales on Kalinda’s Open Night, which falls during the same week!
The Book Fair is not only a chance for your children to find some excellent new reading material, it’s also a fantastic way to support Kalinda Primary School. Kalinda receives up to 30% of the total sales amount to purchase new books for the library and classrooms!

On Wednesday, May 22nd, Kalinda will once again be participating in National Simultaneous Storytime. NSS is held annually by the Australian Library & Information Association. Each year, a picture book written and illustrated by Australian authors and illustrators is selected to be read simultaneously in schools, libraries, homes, and children’s facilities all over the country - and the world.
The book selected this year is Bowerbird Blues, by Aura Parker. You can find out more about the book and the author here: https://www.illustrated.com.au/
This wonderful and fun event aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, and is a great demonstration of how reading and books can connect people across places, timezones, ages, and cultures.
