Principal's Message

By Jenny Hassett

Welcome Back

We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable term break and are all feeling refreshed and ready for what is shaping up to be an exciting term.

We have a number of special events being held during this term so please keep a constant check on COMPASS for all details. Please remember that we are unable to accept late permissions for any excursion as detailed in previous newsletters and COMPASS last term. Organising these events is rather involved in terms of paperwork to the region, booking fees, staffing arrangements etc.

If you are planning for a holiday midyear the Term 2 holiday break is as follows:

Term 2 concludes on Friday June 28th at 2.30pm. Students return on Monday 15th July.

Safety Concern - Car Accident

Just a reminder to parents to check your child is securily seated before engaging the engine and driving. We have had two reports of parents driving with their child standing in the back seat. We do not want to think that there may be an event where a child is thrown through the windscreen if the car is inviolved in an accident. Also some parents are encouraging their child/children to cross the road without using the crossing. Please, the crossing is there to protect your child and ensure their safety.

Congratulations

Congratulations to all the students who represented Rollins at the recent District Cross Country Events. Jack Day was the duty teacher on the day and reported to me that our students were amazing- incredibly well behaved, supportive and mature. Great effort everyone- It makes me proud when I hear reports such as this. To actually complete the cross country course is a major achievement. Competition at this level is very intense with many participants having trained for several years. Again, congratulations to all our students who were participated at this level.

Preps 2025

If you have a sibling of a current student needing enrolment next year then we ask that this is submitted as soon as possible to give us a clear indication of potential numbers and class sizes. We have a large number of Out of Zone families trying to enrol and we are unable to move forward until we have all siblings enrolled.

Hats

During Terms 2 and 3 Students can wear navy beanies to keep their heads warm. Beanies with the school logo are available online or from the school office for $10. Coloured and football beanies are for wearing over the weekends.

New Staff

Congratulations to the following who were the successful applicants at our recent interview process:

I am sure they will be a great asset to our Rollins staff. Welcome.

Ambulance Costs

From time to time, like all schools, there may be accidents in the school or wider community, despite all precautions and safety checks. When a more intense accident does happen at school, I will call an ambulance. Of course, immediate contact with parents/ emergency contacts will also be made. Please ensure you are up to date and are fully covered.
