Reconciliation Week
Curiosity launched it's first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in 2023 with the support of Kate Mount (RAP Senior Consultant of AISSA) and Tommy Hicks a Badimia and Narungga man. This document can be found in our front entry and will be updated shortly as we review our first year together focusing on making the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People's culture and truth telling visible to our youngest of learners and the community.
This year we are embarking on merging our ELC and School RAP's into a collaborative document to enrich experience and share understandings. If this is something that you would like to participate in then please contact me (Jacqui) and we will invite you into the process.
We will be acknowledging Reconciliation Week this year at Curiosity through reading stories, continuing our use of Kaurna language in our everyday, explore the meaning of our Centre's artwork collaboration by Temaana Sanderson-Bromley and offering some native cooking with ingredients from our Community Garden.
Friday May 25 is Sorry Day. National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations survivors and reflect on how we can all assist in healing. We will be working through the themes found in the book, 'Sorry Day' by Coral Vass and Dub Leffler.
We look forward to this week of deep listening and learning together.
If you have any resources or artefacts that could contribute to our learning, we would love to hear from you.
