CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week for Maths, Year 2 students are being introduced to features of shapes. 

VOCABULARY

2D Shapes: A figure with a flat surface for example a triangle, circle or square 

Corners: A place or angle where two sides meet. 

Edges: Lines that join the shape together

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

As you are going to school (walking, riding or driving) with your child, together identify the shapes of road signs and how they know it is that shape.
