Community News

Emmanuel College

Emmanuel College follows the characteristics of Marianist education, where students are encouraged and supported to achieve their personal best. Last Friday we celebrated Marianist Day with a meaningful liturgy at each campus, followed by lots of fun activities and carnival events.

There is lots of excitement around the College with this year’s musical production fast approaching. ‘The Little Mermaid’ is being performed this week, with costumes, stage setup, acting and singing all being fine-tuned. The musical is a great way for students at both campuses to enjoy working together, and I look forward to sharing images with you in upcoming news.

Students have been busy competing in individual and team activities including golf, Senior Girls AFL, volleyball, soccer and debating and we congratulate everyone for being involved and pursuing personal best.

As part of the College social justice theme and in compassion towards homelessness, we recently had the opportunity to wear casual dress, with gold coin donations going towards Mission Australia. Visiting sites in Footscray and Fitzroy, students and staff have volunteered in offering food and clothing to those in need.

Our libraries are a great space for students to study in and our dedicated staff are always happy to guide students in using the fantastic resources that are available. There is always something fun to do at lunchtimes with games and various interests for students to participate in including Uno.
