Learning Power Award Recipients
Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Your eagerness to help people when we do our classroom jobs, when someone needs help during Literacy groups, and during Discovery lessons when you work with your peers to explore the way our world works by taking turns and always using kind words. I'm very proud of you, Ruby! |
PN | Mitchell | For being a motivated learner who is doing his best and a little bit more in every learning task. Your effort and enthusiasm towards building your writing skills is excellent. Keep thinking of extra little things you can do to make your work better. Well done Mitchell. |
1/2C | Vrishank | For being a motivated learner in all lessons this week and for showing a great improvement in effort during reading rotations. Your enthusiasm for learning is such a great example for the rest of the class, and makes us all excited to be learning together. Thank you for being such a great learner. 1/2S | Aadijay | For being a curious learner this week! It was amazing to see you join in and lead us in our class brain break game ‘magic mirrors’ and have a go at exploring some new learning experiences with Nina. You bring so much light and joy to our class Aadi. We are so lucky to have you in 1/2S. |
1/2A | Joyce | For being a reflective learner. Your writing has matured this term as you think about your goal and ask what next? Where to? And how can I improve to achieve my goals? This is an inspiring quality to have, well done Joyce. |
3/4L | Xavier | For being a collaborative learner who demonstrated patience and support during the writing publishing session last week. Xavier supported his table to navigate Canva and supported his peers so that they could all be successful. Your patience and kindness has not gone unnoticed, thank you for being a great leader! |
3/4O | Madison | For being a curious and collaborative learner in maths last week. Madison asked questions and seeked feedback about her accuracy when measuring objects around the classroom. She included others in her group when measuring the length of the basketball court and ensured that they took turns and listened to each other. We are so lucky to have you in 3/4O! |
3/4S | Neville | For being a collaborative learner in maths last week. Neville supported his one armed classmate Jasper to measure accurately with no gaps and no overlaps! Well done Neville! |

| For being a collaborative learner who always works well with his classmates. You are always the first person to volunteer your help if someone needs it, which you displayed in Literacy groups last week, and are very kind and supportive while doing so. This is so wonderful to see! Well done Tejasbir, you should be very proud of yourself! |
PN | Tong | For being a reflective learner who thought deeply about the special women in his life to make sure he showed appreciation to each of them. Tong tried hard to do his best writing in his Bath Salt poem and his best drawing to decorate his gifts. Keep up the hard work and kindness, Tong. |
1/2C | Aria | For being a resilient learner. This week you have embraced challenges as opportunities to grow, and have been a kind and helpful member of our class, showing dedication to your learning, especially during Maths lessons when learning about the topic of time. You have set a great example to the rest of the class and you should be extremely proud of yourself, just as we are proud of you. Keep up the excellent work! |
1/2S | Mateo | For being a motivated learner during Initial Lit lessons. You listen attentively to the instructions and work hard to apply what you have learnt. Your amazing work ethic and positive attitude to learning reflects the outstanding growth you have made. Well done, Mateo. |
1/2A | Anhad | For being a motivated learner, you are focussed and continually invest time and effort into your learning at home and in the classroom. During whole class learning times your eyes are locked onto the speaker and you make avoiding distractions look easy. You are a role model in ½ A. Well done Anhad! |
3/4L | Niven | For being a motivated learner who has shown persistence and dedication when attempting and completing tasks to the best of his ability. This week, Niven has confidently shared his learning with others, and demonstrated how a good Mathematician solves a problem in more than one way. Keep up the great work Niven! |
3/4O | Akul | For being a curious learner during our Wild Action Zoo incursion. Akul was highly engaged in the experience as he asked the instructor lots of questions to drive his learning. He demonstrated great listening skills throughout the incursion and showed respect for the animals as he gently held the Kangaroo Joey. Great work Akul! |
3/4S | Lavit | For being a curious learner who drives his own learning. Lavit is eager to question and explore. In inquiry learning, Lavit drives his own learning by questioning and exploring his interests. Well Done! |

Ben | For being a curious learner at camp. You were a true joy to have at camp and your curiosity and eagerness to learn was contagious, and always approaching challenges with a positive attitude. Thank you for being helpful around the campsite, especially keeping our campfire alive. For being a resilient learner at camp. You showed incredible bravery and determination throughout the camp, stepping outside your comfort zone and trying new things, especially when you conquered your fear of heights by doing the “giant swing and flying fox.” It was a pleasure to witness your growth, Ben. |

Nick (PE) | Kara | For being a fantastic goalkeeper in our Interschool Sports Soccer team. Kara, you showed confidence to step up and be our goalie. During the game you did some excellent kicking and saving of the ball. Keep it up. |
