Principal's Message

Welcome back to St. Joseph's School for Term 2! I hope this letter finds you all well-rested and rejuvenated after the break.

As we commence this new term, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and enthusiastic students for their continued commitment to academic excellence and community spirit. Together, we create a vibrant learning environment where everyone is valued and encouraged to thrive.

Throughout Term 2, we will continue to focus on our core Mercy values of service, compassion, respect, justice, hospitality & courage. These values form the foundation of everything we do at St. Joseph's, guiding us in our interactions with one another and shaping our approach to teaching and learning.

I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our students. This term, we will embark on a journey of discovery, exploration, and growth. Our dedicated teachers have prepared engaging lessons and enriching experiences designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and inspire a lifelong love of learning. Our Year 4 students continue their faith journey, leading them to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.

As we navigate the challenges and uncertainties of the world around us, let us remember the importance of resilience, perseverance, and kindness. Together, we can overcome any obstacle and emerge stronger and more united

I encourage parents and guardians to stay actively involved in their child's education and to communicate openly with teachers and school staff. By working together as partners in education, we can ensure the success and well-being of every student. Please find teachers emails on the contact us page at the bottom of the newsletter.

LOTE Italian - due to not being able to replace our LOTE teacher this year, I have applied for an exemption through Catholic Education Sandhurst and VRQA to not teach Italian for the remainder of the year. We are working with CES to resolve this issue and will keep you informed moving forward.  Students will have an extra Maths lesson, whish links to our Annual Action Plan for 2024.

In closing, I wish every member of our school community a successful and fulfilling Term 2. Let us approach the weeks ahead with enthusiasm, determination, and a commitment to excellence.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Warm regards,

Sarah Iddles
