CCK Coding Club
As Term Two commences, so too does the eagerly awaited CCK Coding Club!
In the last two weeks of Term One, I met with students to discuss the proposed Coding Club sessions with the Year 3/4 and the Year 5/6 Communities.
We talked about the following benefits for students taking part in the lunchtime club:
- Time to connect with like-minded people
- Upskilling your coding abilities
- Become an expert in Coding Programs
- A chance to showcase mini-coding projects to your peers
Students from Years 3-6 were then given the opportunity to express their interest by using the sign-up sheets displayed in their learning area. It was great to see that there were lots of students wanting to take part!
As of Week 2, the first session of CCK Coding Club will begin. The groups will be broken up into 2 separate sessions:
- Tuesday Lunch Time: Year 3 and 4, in the Year 3/4 Learning Community
- Wednesday Lunch Time: Years 5 and 6, in the Year 5/6 Learning Community.
It's important to note that these sessions will require a level of commitment to the lunchtime Coding Club and a mature approach to engaging in the sessions - including accessing school approved coding sites, as well as communicating with peers sensibly online and in the session. This will all be communicated to those wishing to attend.
Stay tuned to hear more about the CCK Coding Club!
