Principal's Message
Welcome to Term 2
It has been a pleasure to see our students return to school to reconnect with their friends and teachers after the holiday period. They have settled back into school with ease and are engaging with all of the learning opportunities provided by our teachers and education support staff.
Community Engagement
At our School Council meeting on 25 March, we discussed the importance of creating more opportunities for our community to engage with the school and each other. The parent association plays an important role in this vision. Further information about how you can get involved will be shared throughout the term.

Term 2 events
We held a whole school assembly today and were fortunate to have our Mayor, Cr Nicky Luo and John Mullahy MP, State Member for Glen Waverley in attendance to present badges to students in our Green Team and SRC. This visit recognises the important role that Mount View Primary School plays in the broader community of Glen Waverley.
Students from Year 3 to 6 participated in our annual Cross Country event at Mirrabooka Reserve, Blackburn South which allowed students to challenge themselves, do their best and have a sense of achievement. The event was a huge success as a result of the combined efforts of our teaching staff and community members. Congratulations to those students who will be competing in the Division Cross Country event and to all of our students. You showed strength, perseverance and encouraged each other to do your best. Thank you to Merryn Ashcroft for leading this successful event.
Our Year 6 students will be heading off to Waratah Bay for their camp on Monday 29 April. This is a special experience that builds independence and confidence and supports our students to strengthen their friendships in their final year of primary school. Thank you to our year 6 teachers and support staff and our parent volunteers for taking time away from your families and daily activities to ensure that our students have an enjoyable and successful camp experience.
Please remember that the school will be closed on Thursday 25 April for Anzac Day and again on Friday 26 April for a curriculum day. Our staff team will be attending a day of professional learning to build a restorative school culture as part of our partnership with Real Schools led by Paul Blinkoff.
