Future Women In Trade Expo

On Wednesday the 8th of May, 35 Year 9 and 10 girls attended the Future Women in Trade expo at the Melbourne Convention centre.

The day was organised by Ms Haines and Ms Vaina.

Our Viewbank students got to experience some hands-on interactions with a wide variety of trades such as electronics, welding, woodwork, bricklaying and high growth green industries.

As traditional gender roles in employment break down, there are opportunities for women who have a passion for careers in trades to pursue them.

This day was just the first step for many Viewbank students who may want to explore careers, apprenticeships, work experience or traineeships in these industries.

VCE is not the only pathway, and Viewbank College is determined to provide as much information about future careers as possible.

If you wish to discuss any career questions, please contact Ms Vaina or Ms Haines.

Their offices are in the library, near the photocopier.
