Dear Community,
Lots of events are coming up in the next week at CJC. Firstly, please come and join us at the School Working Bee on Sunday, 5 May from 10am to 1pm. The PC will put on a free BBQ in support of our volunteers. All the details for Mother’s Day at CJC are below and an extra reminder to purchase your tickets for the Breakfast by Wednesday to assist the team with ordering. Thank you to the Garivaldis Family from Garde 1 for their generous donation of new gloves for the Working Bee.
Mother’s Day @ CJC is Next Week!!
The Dads of CJC and Parents Committee will host a special Mother’s Day breakfast on Friday 10th May from 8am to 9.00am in the SLC. We invite you to join a delicious breakfast with school families. Mother’s Day Gift Stall : After the breakfast, the Mother's Day Stall will open from 9:30am to 1.30pm. Children will be able to purchase 2 gifts for their Mum or special person (price range from $3 to $12, CASH ONLY). Children are free to return at lunchtime and purchase any further gifts that they would like. This ensures that all classes have an equal opportunity to buy from the full range of gifts. Volunteers are needed to help with putting together the Flower Posies for the stall. Meet in the SLC on Thursday May 9 from 1:30 - 3:30pm bring your own gloves and secateurs. All welcome, please come and join us. The PC still need some extra Passata or other tall jars for our flower posies – donations can be dropped off next in the main building next to the 2nd Hand Uniform donation basket.
Events for the Remainder of Term 2
The first ever CJC Africa Day is planned for 17 May from 3.30 – 5. Come and celebrate the diversity and culture of this continent and its islands (not forgetting all our families from Mauritius and La Reunion! There will be food, art, African childhood games and dancing. If you would like to assist please email us at caulfieldjuniorpc@gmail.com
Fête de la Musique: The PC plans to run a school disco to celebrate this event.
CJC Parent’s Band: We have also formed a CJC Parent’s Band and the Band is looking for a keyboardist to join. The band has number of other talent musicians in its line-up including a bass guitar, guitar, singer, drummer and saxophone player. Send us an email to be put in touch.
CJC Families Facebook Group: Did you know that we have a CJC Facebook Group called CJC Families? The page is used to inform our community of CJC Events, sell 2nd hand uniform, find a babysitter and more. The page is private, and you must be a CJC community member and answer the questions to join.
EFM - Call for Volunteers: The EFM provides a range of francophone services to our CJC community, including running the ever-popular EFM after school activities. The EFM is looking for additional volunteers to support the management of these programs and other programs. Joining the EFM IS a great way to deepen your francophone connections at CJC and beyond. Please contact president@efm.org.au if you can assist.
Friday Treats: We will sell pain aux chocolate ($4) from Reverie Café after school from 3.30pm until 3.45pm.
Gardening Club: We also have some interested parents who have established a CJC Parent Gardening Team to assist Madame Wilson’s STEM and Garden Program. Contact us at caulfieldjuniorpc@gmail.com
