Reflection
A prayer for becoming the best version of ourselves
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of each new day a chance to grow, to learn, and to become more fully the person You created us to be. Help us, to strive not only for success, but for wisdom, kindness, and integrity. May we embrace challenges with courage and meet others with compassion.
We give thanks for our parents, whose love and support form the foundation of our strength. Bless them with patience, wisdom, and joy as they guide us through life’s journey. May their encouragement continue to shape our hearts and minds.
We are grateful for our teachers, who light the path of learning and nurture our potential. Grant them clarity, resilience, and grace as they inspire us to grow not just academically, but as people of character and purpose.
Together, may we walk in unity; students, parents, and teachers supporting one another in the pursuit of truth, goodness, and transformation.
As Your Word reminds us:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Romans 12:2
Help us to bear that mystery with humility and hope, trusting that You are shaping us into the best version of ourselves.

Continue painting your Canvas: Beginning a New Term with Purpose
As we begin Term 3, I invite our community to revisit the reflections I shared at the close of Term 2 on mindsets, milestones, and momentum and consider how those insights can guide us in the term ahead.
Term 2 Reflection & Term 3 Reset: Key Reminders
1. Mindset Matters
Reflect on your mindset: Are you open to growth, feedback, and challenges?
A growth mindset fuels resilience and learning; a fixed mindset can hold you back.
The break provided an opportunity to reset and recommit to a mindset that embraces effort and progress.
2. Milestones by Year Group
Year 12: Final stretch - focus on HSC prep, self-care, and strategic study.
Year 11: Preliminary assessments ahead - lay strong foundations for Year 12.
Year 10: Subject selections for 2026 - make informed choices using reports and conversations.
Years 5–9: Reflect on Semester One Reports - set clear goals and strengthen learning habits
As we commence Term 3, we’re reminded that each student’s journey is like a canvas rich with potential, shaped by experience, and ready for new layers of growth. This fresh start invites us all to pick up the brush again and continue painting with intention across three key areas: academic, religious, and personal development.
Academic Growth
Term 3 brings new challenges and opportunities. Whether we are preparing for final exams, building on past achievements, or setting fresh goals, every lesson and learning moment adds depth to our academic canvas. Stay curious, stay organised, and embrace the journey.
Spiritual Renewal
Our faith and values guide us through each term. We are encouraged to take time to reflect, pray, and engage in meaningful conversations that strengthen our spiritual foundation. Let compassion, gratitude, and service be the colours that brighten our path.
Personal Development
This term is also a chance to grow in character. Everyone has the opportunity to strengthen habits of persistence, kindness, and self-awareness. Whether through friendships, leadership, or quiet reflection, each experience helps shape who we are becoming.
Therefore, as we begin Term 3, let’s come together as a community, students, staff, and families to inspire one another, share our strengths, and ignite a passion for learning and growth. United in purpose, we can create a vibrant, meaningful canvas that reflects the best of who we are and who we are becoming.
Activities during the holidays
Congratulations to all the students who participated in activities throughout the holidays. We had students participate in sport camps both at Chatswood and also at Oxford Falls, the Red Dirt Immersion, Parish in Council and the successful Rugby Tour to Queensland. HSC students were also able to attend holiday workshops and also visit the Senior Resource Centre for quiet study.
Thank you to staff who gave up their holiday time to provide these opportunities for students.
Annual Year 8 Ski Trip
Wishing all our Year 8 students every success and enjoyment on the annual ski trip!
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who are generously giving their time to support our students. Your dedication makes these memorable experiences possible. I look forward to hearing the wonderful stories the students will have as they experience the beauty of nature.
Cocurricular Program
Wishing all our teams the very best this weekend as we return to our respective competitions.
As we approach the final rounds before the semi-finals, several teams have already secured their spot, while others will be relying on these last games to qualify.
No matter where we currently sit on the ladder, I hope every player gets the chance to showcase their skills and enjoy the experience. Sport is about learning, growing, and having fun. Winning is simply a bonus.
Go the Blue and Gold!

AO - Tom Rogers, Old Boy (1979)
The College was very pleased to hear that Old Boy, Tom Rogers has been appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to public administration, awarded in this year's King's honours list.

Prior to his time at the AEC, Tom was the Executive Director at the Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM), which is administered by the Australian Federal Police, to deliver highly respected executive development programs for leaders and future leaders of Australasian police and other public safety organisations.
Tom graduated from the Royal Military College (RMC) Duntroon in 1983 and served in the Australian Defence Force Academy, was the Senior Instructor in Leadership at RMC Duntroon and commanded the United Nations Observer Mission (Observer Group Golan), Tiberias.
