Book Week
Last week our school celebrated Book Week with the theme 'Book an Adventure'. We had our character parade on Wednesday, and despite the rain, it was wonderful to see so many parents and carers attending. Your support and attendance at these events is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to our wonderful teacher/librarians - Mr Luxa and Ms Le for coordinating the event. Last minute reorganisation, due to wet weather, meant we had to move the parade into the hall and break up the parade into stage parades. From what I could see and hear, the students really enjoyed the parade.
We look forward to the Book Fair which will be held in the library in Week 8.
Congratulations Miss Martinez
Miss Martinez is accredited as a Highly Accomplished Teacher and was formally presented with her medal at a ceremony on Friday afternoon. As a school, we are so proud of Miss Martinez and this wonderful achievement. Please see the section of this newsletter called 'HALT'.
P&C Father's Day Stall
The P&C will be holding the Father's Day Stall on Thursday, 4th September. Students will have the opportunity to buy gifts when their class is scheduled to visit the hall.
As Stage 3 (Years 5&6) students are at camp or on the alternate excursion that day, they will have the opportunity to use the order form. Simply fill out the form and return to the office, with the money, and their gifts will be distributed on Friday, 5th September.
Thank you to the P&C for accommodating all students and the additional organisation. We are grateful for all that your committee and volunteers do for our school.
New School Website Upgrade Project
Our new/upgraded school website went live at the end of last week. The web address is still the same - St Johns Park Public School but much improved. Please have a look.
Thank you to the team of teachers - Mr Russo, Mrs Lee, Miss Ta, Mr Pham and Miss Bejain - who worked so hard in updating the information, the photos and the aesthetic of the site. We are proud to be amongst the first 200 schools to do the update!
