Welcome to week 6, which is going to be a very exciting and busy week for the Foundation students. This week the students will be participating in Book Week activities, which is always very exciting for all students.
Each Monday afternoon, one student from each class receives an award. This term, awards are given to students displaying the qualities of Henry Backhaus including independence, persistence, using their initiative and doing something which may challenge them. Award winners will be acknowledged at the next assembly on the slide show. Congratulations to the award winners for Term 3 weeks 3, 4 & 5.

Tomorrow the 19th of August all of our students will celebrate book week by dressing up as a book character or story that they enjoy. This year's theme for book week is, “Book an adventure,” which you may think about when organising your child’s costume. The parade will begin at 9:00am which will last for about 30 minutes. At 9:30am we will have the Blurbs play for the whole school, which is always lots of fun. Families are welcome to attend the parade and the Blurbs performance which will be held in the Liborius centre. If you have any questions about tomorrow, please do not hesitate to contact your classroom teacher.
On Monday 1st of September, the Foundation to Grade two students will be participating in an incursion at school around the concept of this term's subject focus which is Science.
Students will have the opportunity to experience the following activities throughout the day:
Students can wear their sports uniform on this day and bring their normal packed recess and lunch.
Thank you to all of the parents who came along and celebrated 100 days of school and 100 days of Magnify with the Foundation students. The students all had a fabulous day celebrating and it was lovely to see so many parents who were able to meet Kate Fogarty the director of Catholic Education Sandhurst as well as enjoying a morning tea. Here are some photos of each class dressed up enjoying our celebrations.

We are in desperate need of more glue sticks for our Foundation students and would appreciate it if families could donate more to their children’s classroom. If possible, the blue bostik brand would be preferred.
