DO NOT STOP THE LITTLE CHILDREN COMING TO ME
Matthew 19: 13-15
“Do not stop the little children coming to me”
GOSPEL REFLECTION
One of the Gospel readings from this week (Matthew 19:13–15), people bring little children to Jesus so He can bless them. The disciples try to stop them, but Jesus reminds everyone that children are very close to the heart of God. He tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who come to God with a child’s trust, joy, and openness.
As a school community, we are reminded that every child is a precious gift from God. We are called to nurture their faith, encourage their gifts, and help them know that they are deeply loved by Jesus.
PRAYER
Jesus, Thank You for loving us and welcoming us.
Bless our St Liborius School community - our friends, families, teachers,
and all who care for us.
Help us to be kind, caring, and joyful,
and to always remember that we are precious to You.
Amen.
DISCUSSION PROMPT
How can we, as a family and part of the St Liborius School community, show Jesus’ love by welcoming and caring for others?
STAFF SPIRITUALITY DAY
Last Wednesday, staff from St Liborius joined more than 3,000 staff across Catholic Education Sandhurst to take part in a Spiritual day. The day provided opportunity to pause, reflect and reconnect. Cast across multiple locations, the day opened with an inspiring plenary from Rev Jake Mudge, Parish Priest of St Therese’s (and past student from St Liborius). This was an opportunity to reflect on the Jubilee Year theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope’, reminding us that; “You can’t be a pilgrim if you don’t have hope”.
The day followed with workshops centred around ‘Everday Spirituality’ and looking deeper into the life of St Francis of Assis; founder of the Franciscan order who are part of our charism here at St Liborius.
The day concluded with each of us reflecting on our own spiritual journey, both personally and as part of the St Liborius school community.
