Dear Parents & Carers,
Brain Olympia
On Thursday 31st July we held our annual Brain Olympia competition. The students from Years 4-6 were placed in teams to solve general knowledge questions, present a speech, solve tricky Maths problems and create a short play. All of the students participated enthusiastically throughout the day.
I was impressed with the students who presented a speech on behalf of their team. Thank you to Sienna, Dani, Delia, Ryder & Lily.
The winning team on the day was the Brain Soldiers:
Congratulations to Cynthia, Harold, James, Delia, Brooklyn & Scarlett.
From this day we selected students to make up a team to represent our school at the Diocesan Cluster event in Tamworth on Monday 11th August.
Congratulations to: Cynthia, Harold, Dani, Sienna, Delia, Cruze, Ryder & Dougie. We wish you all the best for the next level of this competition.
ASCA Speech & Communication Program
Students in Years 2-6 are invited to join the speech and oral language program we will be providing each Friday afternoon at 2.00pm from 22nd August. A detailed letter was sent home last week and I encourage families to respond to this letter by this Friday 8th August. I would like to acknowledge and thank Mrs Anne Scott who has volunteered to facilitate this program with our staff. We are indeed fortunate to have someone with Anne’s experience sharing her talents with our school community.
Staff News
Mrs Robyn Wilson will be leading the school over the next few weeks as I am on leave for various reasons. I am spending time with my new granddaughter in Sydney, attending the Principal's meeting in Armidale and travelling to Coffs Harbour for the NSW PSSA State Netball Championships; where I am the Polding Team Manager.
Diocesan Athletics Carnival
Good luck to our students representing our school at the Diocesan Athletics Carnival in Tamworth this Thursday. I look forward to hearing your results.
