Secondary School

What a Start to the Year!

We are very grateful and super excited to have our students back and ready for the year ahead. It has been such a positive start, with many happy faces returning to their friends and enjoying meeting their teachers for 2026.

Year Seven Orientation

We have welcomed 49 new students to Year Seven this week, joining the 30 students moving up from Year Six. It has been a hive of transition and new relationships forming. This week, we collapsed the curriculum and focused on introductory activities such as learning to use laptops, organising filing systems, meeting new teachers and participating in an excursion to the ancient fish traps near the school, where students learned stories from our Menang Elders.

It has been a wonderful week, and we look forward to academic classes beginning next week as students settle into the rhythm of school life.

Year Nine Rites of Passage Launch

On Wednesday, our Year Nine students participated in the launch of their Rites of Passage program. This exciting new initiative supports students as they understand and prepare for their transition into adulthood.

We are committed to making Year Nine a year in which students feel empowered to embrace responsibility, demonstrate accountability, and recognise their own strengths. We want them to feel confident living their values through their actions, standing up for themselves, and standing up for others.

The upcoming Year Nine Camp promises to be both exciting and challenging, with a strong focus on teamwork, self‑reflection and grit.

Academic Support

A reminder that our after‑school Academic Support Program is available from Week Two. Each afternoon in the Library, teachers are available to support students from Years Seven to Twelve in various subjects.

For Year Eleven and Twelve students, particularly those in ATAR courses, additional support can be arranged directly with classroom teachers by appointment.

Year Seven students also have access to a dedicated Homework Club on Thursdays.

Music

Congratulations to Amali Nizam‑Wood in Year Eight and Tian Bray in Year Twelve for participating in the Summer Early Music Workshop with Denmark Baroque. This five‑day workshop focused on performing in the authentic French Baroque style and included solo workshop sessions as well as ensemble work with Baroque specialists from Perth.

Amali also performed at the AMEB High Achievers Concert at Callaway Music Hall. This concert is an invitation‑only event recognising students who have excelled in recent AMEB examinations. Congratulations to Amali on this outstanding achievement and on her excellent result in her Grade Four examination.
