P&F
It was a warm welcome back to Term One, the sun was shining and the coffee was flowing. It looked like a record attendance at our Day One Coffee Van and we hope you enjoyed a cuppa.
We hope your family had a wonderful holiday and that students are settling back into the school routine. This time of year is particularly busy in the P&F space, so below is an outline of the events coming up over the next couple of weeks:
- Friday 13 February – Our big event of the year, the P&F Welcome Sundowner. Following the Parent Information Sessions, please join us in the Pratten Centre Courtyard for drinks and finger food. It is a great way to meet new people and celebrate the start of the term. Please remember this is an 18 plus event.
Friday 20 February – Primary School Meet and Mingle (3.30pm to 5.00pm) After lessons finish, please join us in the ECC playground for a sausage sizzle. Non‑alcoholic refreshments will also be available. This is another great opportunity for new families to meet other families in their year groups.
Sunday 22 February – Year Seven Meet and Mingle (3.00pm to 5.00pm). Open to Year Seven families only, we invite students and parents to gather at the Multi-Purpose Sport Complex (Gym) annex. Students will enjoy unstructured games while new and returning families take the opportunity to get to know one another. More details will appear in upcoming editions of The Anchor and the Year Seven WhatsApp group.
Sunday 8 March – Afternoon on The Knoll (2.00pm to 5.00pm) a whole-school event. This year we are pleased to welcome local artist Kris Nelson, who will perform on the grassed area behind the Pratten Centre overlooking Oyster Harbour. It is a picnic‑style event , BYO food, drinks and a blanket. There will be lawn games for the children. Further details will be shared in upcoming editions of The Anchor and through year‑group P&F WhatsApp chat groups.
- Sunday 15 March – The Dads’ Group Annual Kayak Event. This is always a well‑attended gathering and a great way for dads to meet others while enjoying some fun on the water with their children. More information will follow soon.
As you can see, there is a lot happening this term. We hope you can join us for some or all of these events and continue to be part of what makes the GSG community so special.
