Ryan's Rambling

Dear Families,

And so…the doors of 2025 come to a close.

What a year it has been for our amazing school! This year saw our NAPLAN results soar to new heights, and our team couldn’t be prouder of our amazing students for this.  The many community events across the year brought a sense of connection and highlighted the strong, positive culture at our school. Our School Production was one such fantastic success, with students and families still reliving the shared experience.  Our School Mural is another project from the year that has had a lasting impression on many. Hopefully, it will serve as a reminder to all of us of our strength, who we are and what keeps us strong.

Our fantastic 2025 Graduates celebrated their night of nights on Wednesday night here at school. Hearing their stories, sharing some tears and bidding a sad, yet fulfilling farewell was a delightful experience for all of us. I am really going to miss this wonderful group of people, but am confident that the future will be bright with them at the helm.

Sadly, we bid a fond farewell to some departing staff. Jess Booth has been with of for the past three years and has endeared herself to staff and students alike. Miners Rest Primary is lucky to have Jess beginning her work there next year. Louise is heading to Black Hill Primary, where I know her expertise in Literacy will be appreciated and welcomed. Milla Gosney, who has only been at our school for one term, is working at Newington next year and I thank Milla for her time and dedication. Millie Poulton will be heading to begin her university studies to become a teacher, which is really exciting. I am hopeful that we can still see her into the future.

I do wish to personally thank all of our amazing parents for your support and dedication over the course of this year. Dana Street has had a phenomenally positive and successful year, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support and dedication of our amazing parent community.

However you chose to spend your time over the next few weeks, I do hope that it is positive and that you can recharge with those closest to you.

See you in 2026.

Ryan
