Platypus Classroom

Literacy
What a great term of learning and growth demonstrated in the Platypus Classroom this term. We completed our unit on Wandi where students analysed authority of text, created posters that inform and persuade their audience to look after Australia's iconic dingo and recorded a Q&A podcast about a chosen wildlife sanctuary. Our class is focused, collaborative and considerate. We can't wait to begin our Storm Boy unit next term!
Maths
Students in the Platypus class have worked hard towards their individual math goals this term. We finished the term by checking 'how we are going' and decided to continue with current goals or develop new goals for next term. This helps our students to take ownership of their learning and self-assess.
In our fortnightly focus, students have finished off their unit on Length and Time. They have been hands-on estimating and measuring the length, perimeter and area of objects in the classroom and on the playground using different measuring tools and converting units of measurement.

Harmony Day
Friday, the 21st of March, our students participated in a range of activities to support and recognise the importance of Harmony Day. They created crafts such as Harmony Day hearts, beaded bracelets and decorated a Harmony Day tree.
