2026 Welcome Back

Welcome back! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break. As we begin the new school year, we are excited to welcome all students and families back to Lockleys North Primary School. Whether you are returning or joining our community for the first time, we extend a warm welcome to you and your child.

This year, we will continue to strengthen our focus on embedding our Aiming High Expectations, which reflect and reinforce our school values.

Aiming high is more than just a goal; it is a shared commitment. We believe every child has the potential to achieve success, and we are dedicated to providing the support, encouragement, and guidance they need to thrive.

Our Aiming High Expectations is explicitly taught and consistently referenced as part of our behaviour expectations. Students will understand that these apply at all times in the classroom, during learning time, and in the schoolyard. By setting clear expectations, we create a positive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for everyone.

We encourage families to reinforce these expectations at home and to engage in conversations with your child about their school experiences. Your partnership plays a vital role in supporting a successful and positive learning journey.

Year Level "Flipbooks"

Families should have recently received a year-level flipbook via email. These provide important information about the learning, routines and focus areas within your child’s building and year level. We encourage you to take some time to read through the flipbook, as it offers valuable insight into what your child will be learning and how we support them throughout the year.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families who attended our Building Connections event on Monday afternoon. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, connect with staff, and meet other families within our school community. Events like these help strengthen the partnerships between home and school and foster a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.

A special thank you to the parents who generously volunteered their time to assist with the BBQ. Your support and involvement are greatly appreciated and play an important role in making these community events such a success.

Ten Years On: Remembering the Datta Family

This year marks ten years since the tragic passing of the Datta Family, a loss that continues to be felt deeply across the LNPS community.

The Datta family were valued and much loved members of LNPS. During their time with us, they made a lasting contribution to our school through their warmth, kindness, and strong connection to our community.

Although a decade has passed since the accident that took their lives, their memory remains an important part of our history. For many families and staff, the Datta Family will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we continue to honour the impact they had on those around them.

As a lasting tribute, our school created the Butterfly Garden near the gym, a peaceful space for reflection and remembrance. A plaque has been placed there in honour of the Datta Family, serving as a reminder of their valued place within our community and the love that continues to surround their memory. Often, butterflies can be seen gently flying around the garden, symbolising hope, remembrance, and the lasting spirit of those we hold dear.
