The Gap SHS at Australian Youth Championships

We are thrilled to announce the outstanding performances of our athletes at the recent Australian Youth Championships. The Gap State High School was proudly represented by seven exceptional volleyball players, each demonstrating remarkable skill and sportsmanship.

Our students achieved impressive results across various age categories:
U14 Boys: Fletcher B and Jack S secured silver medals as part of the Queensland Maroons side.

U14 Girls: Amelia O and Nicoletta K also claimed silver medals with the Queensland Maroons.

U15 Girls: Juliet C brought home gold as a member of the Queensland Maroons team.

U18 Category: Harvey S and Caitlin C not only won gold with their respective teams but also earned MVP trophies in their gold medal matches demonstrating their stand out performances.

Junior Schools Cup

As we celebrate these successes, we're also gearing up for the upcoming Junior Schools Cup. This exciting event will take place from 18 to 20 October, where The Gap SHS will field seven teams competing for the championship.

Our teams have been training diligently, with our Year 7 students particularly eager to make their mark in their first major competition representing The Gap SHS. The dedication and enthusiasm shown by all our athletes have been fantastic and we are looking forward to seeing them compete hard and enjoy the opportunity.

Elite Volleyball Program awards

The Elite Volleyball Program will be featured at both the Senior and Junior awards nights. We're excited to present special awards that recognise athletes who have wholeheartedly embraced and exemplified our culture of elite character, commitment, and competitive spirit.

These awards will not just focus on athletic achievement, but instead athletes who demonstrate the values that make our volleyball program truly special and work towards setting our students up for future success beyond high school sport.

We're immensely proud of all our athletes and look forward to more exciting volleyball action in the coming months.
