APPs - Ladder Survival Challenge!

Students in Year 9 Applied Positive Psychology have been developing their collaboration skills in our team work unit: Pioneering. Whilst the unit looks like it’s all about knots and pretending to be a pioneer, we instead use this medium to teach collaboration and team work strategies. Last week, these skills were put to the test by building a ‘ladder’ that had to support their team of 11, up the Grandstand. It was wonderful watching the two teams in their large groups: devise a plan, designate rolls and communicate their way through problems. Both groups approached the structure entirely differently, and both succeeded magnificently. I hope they are all very proud! As their teacher, I definitely was.
