Be Free From Worry
1 Corinthians 7:32 says, “Be Free From Worry”. This is an important mindset to adopt but one that is not always easy to put into practice. If we allow our present and past circumstances, global issues, the unknown or our own thoughts to overwhelm us, we may not grasp this commandment from God - “Do not worry; do not be anxious.”
Our challenge as children of God is to truly believe God loves us and wants the best for us. To believe without a doubt, He is our Father and we are His children.
Philippians 4:4 proclaims the truth that God wants good for us - constantly. “I want you to be happy, always happy in the Lord; I repeat, what I want is your happiness.”
I believe for God to fulfil His purpose in our lives we must surrender and invite our gentle Father to take over. He will use all things for our good (our happiness) - even our sufferings and hardships, our longings and desires.
As we enter the last term of this magnificent year, I pray that we can all rest safely and confidently in the care and love of our Father, knowing our happiness is His delight.

Book Week Parade
Primary students had lots of book fun on Thursday 5 September as we celebrated Book Week with our wonderful and colourful Parade and engaging Rotations. Students outdid themselves this year with their exceptional costumes based on a book character. Many hours of work went into some of these wonderful creations.
Our teachers looked fabulous dressed up as a character from the classic book ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl, including the golden ticket and lollies, and entertained us with a funny Oompa Loompa dance.
Rotation activities explored the books ‘Gymnastica Fantastica’ by Briony Stewart, and ‘Grace and Mr Milligan’ by Caz Goodwin and students created their own picnic rugs and gymnasts’ ribbons filled with words of encouragement.
Unfortunately Reading Hour had to be postponed due to the wild weather last Monday…watch this space!

Primary Cereal Domino Train
On Wednesday 11 September, our Primary School came together for an exciting and heartwarming event—the Cereal Domino Train! The playground was filled with laughter and excitement as the carefully set-up cereal boxes tumbled in a domino chain, weaving their way around to the cheers of delighted students.
We are incredibly grateful to our generous Bayside community. Thanks to your donations, we collected an impressive 213 boxes of cereal! These will be distributed by the wonderful volunteers at Pantry Plus at Peninsula City Church in Frankston to bless families in need.

Community Market
Thank you to everyone who came along to the 'Footy Finals Fever' Community Market! The Bayside community raised an epic $777.20 which equates to 16 months of Compassion Australia child sponsorship for Brayen, Riri and Anton. Congratulations Bayside!

Years 1/2 Animal Projects
Roaring lions, growling bears and snappy crocodiles are a few of our incredible animal exhibits. Years 1/2 students have made wonderful projects to conclude our Integrated Unit ” Animals”. The hands-on learning filled the classrooms with joy and a spirit of perseverance. The children have been inspired by God’s marvellous creation.

Years 1/2 Dinner & Activity Day
There was much excitement in the Year 1/2 classes on Thursday, 16th September, as the students excitedly awaited the Year 1/2 Dinner. Students enjoyed after-school activities with Mr Hill and Mr Green before enjoying a delicious dinner in the G-block gym. (A big thank you to the parent helpers for your assistance!)
A dance party and dessert followed dinner before the Year 1's began to head home. The Talent Show was a wonderful highlight, with the Year Twos taking to the stage to sing, dance, juggle, and tell jokes. It was then time to change into PJs and listen to a bedtime story from Mrs Bolden before snuggling down into sleeping bags for the night.
Friday morning began with a pancake breakfast and a walk around the oval before the Year Ones returned for the Activity Day! This was a busy day with many different activities, with the highlight being the Reptile Encounters incursion. There was an amazing variety of animals to meet, from Tiny the (giant) python to Pretzel the saltwater crocodile! There was much joy and excitement as students patted and held the various animals. What a wonderful experience!

Years 3/4 Community Market
The students and teachers in 3/4 are thrilled to announce that they were able to raise over $600 thanks to their hard work and planning which resulted in the success of their ‘Healthy Habits’ and ‘Read and Play All Day’ stalls! This is a photo of them counting their profits.
Years 5/6 Cricket Day
What I loved most about Cricket Day was how everyone brought their A-game with awesome sportsmanship! The cheering was nonstop, and the whole vibe was just amazing. Whether we won or lost didn’t even matter compared to the fun we had as a team. From the sidelines, we cheered on the boys, even if they couldn’t hear us—it was all about the support! It truly was the best day ever, and to top it off, we made some new friends from other schools along the way! - Evie Hooper
On the 6th September 2024, 10 x Year 5/6 boys played at the cricket gala day. The boys included: Levi Milburn (C), Thomas Hooper, Jimmy Fraser, Eli Lynch, Jaxon Murgana, Levi Hughes, Tate Wheeler, Toby Fraser, Micah Dawson and Lucas Hooper. We played six games and we won three, and lost three. We came fourth place overall. It was a great day, and we all enjoyed it! Shout out to Mr Green and Mr Klan for helping us on the day. It was a fun-filled and exciting day where we all came together as a team. - Levi Miburn
Year 5/6 Health Talks
In Week 7, our Year 5/6 students gathered for an insightful and fun-filled health talk day! The theme of the day was "fearfully and wonderfully made" by God. The students engaged in meaningful discussions about the exciting changes they’re experiencing as they grow.
We touched on topics such as the importance of healthy friendships, body image and the journey of puberty. Our aim was to provide a safe space for curiosity and learning while encouraging open conversations about how our bodies are created with purpose and care.
To keep things lively, we sprinkled the day with fun games, dancing, and even wrapped it up with a pizza party! It was a day of learning, laughter, and community—a great time had by all!

Basketball Finals Results
Over the past two weeks, a number of Raiders teams played in the Frankston & District Basketball Association finals. A huge congratulations to our Grand Final winners in U10 boys Grizzlies (21-4), U10 boys Matt (35-4), U12 boys Whelan (36-32) and, possibly the closest and most nail-biting game, a 1-point-win in our U18 A-grade boys Richard (43-42).
In the Western Port competition, the Hooper boys team won 38-36 and the Richard boys team won 60-57. Congratulations teams!
We also had a series of strong performances resulting in Grand Final Runners Up wth the U14 Mason girls (11-17) and both U16 Ulli (18-20) and U16 McDonald (27-30) boys teams.
For such a small club we have done extremely well and a big shout out has to go to our wonderful coaches.
With our summer season coming up, we are still looking for players in U8 girls, and U14 boys and U16 girls teams.
