French Day

On Monday, 16th September, we held our Annual French Day! This event was a whole day incursion for our Year 7 students, and was a fantastic way to fire up our students passion for language learning and their curiosity about the French language and culture.

Multiple activities were held during the day including:

A visit by Mime Magnifique! Where students explored French culture and history, learning the significance of the French artform of mime. With charades, magic tricks, and more.

French Impressionist Art - painting water lilies in the style of Claude Monet (water lilies were the main focus of Monet's artistic production during the last thirty years of his life, at his home in Giverny, France).

Build your Eiffel Tower Model - A STEM activity with a French theme - some fantastic Tour Eiffels were produced.

Fabulous French Scientists Hall of Fame

French Music Activity / Horrible Histories

French Mime Drama Activities

A viewing of Une vie de chat (A Cat in Paris) - an animated adventure crime, comedy film

And of course, crepe making by our Year 8 French students and Year 12 students, which our Year 7 students enjoyed eating throughout the day.

Many thanks to Ms Kielnhofer, Mr De Lima and Mrs Lima, as well as the many other staff and students who contributed to such a fantastic day.
