Real Talk Year 4
Dear Parents & Caregivers,
Getting Real in the Digital World Year 4 Seminar
We have been invited by the Armidale Catholic Schools Office to present to Years 4, 6, 7 and 9 students. 2024 is our seventh year and we’re excited to continue working with your community.
What does Real Talk do? Based on Catholic values, Real Talk provides up-to-date resources, interactive games and personal stories as part of our presentations. Our aim is to help young people to understand God’s amazing plan for love and life.
Please be reassured our presentation focuses on topics that are developmentally appropriate to this age group. Our primary school ‘getting real in the digital world’ sessions include the following elements and topics: • Self-image • Making good choices • The impact of the media (inc. social media) • Cyber-safety tips and hints.
We have recently launched Real Talk Parents a site which includes quick reference guides, conversation starters, short videos, deep-dive seminars, printable resources, videos and curated links for parenting on the tough topics to do with relationships and eSafety. www.realtalkparents.com/armidale If you have any queries about your child’s suitability or the content of the seminar, please contact your school or check out our website at www.realtalkaustralia.com.

The Holy Rosary
October is a special month in the Church because it is the month of the Holy Rosary. During this time, we are encouraged to pray the Rosary more often. The Holy Rosary is a special prayer that helps us remember important moments in the lives of Jesus and Mary. When we pray the Rosary, we use a string of beads to guide our prayers. The beads help us keep track of the prayers we say, like the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be.
The Rosary has different parts called mysteries that help us think about different events in the life of Jesus and Mary. These mysteries are divided into four sets:
The Joyful Mysteries tell us about the happy times, like when the Angel Gabriel told Mary she would be the mother of Jesus.
The Luminous Mysteries show us the important events in Jesus’ teaching, like when He was baptized and began His mission.
The Sorrowful Mysteries remind us of the sad moments, like when Jesus suffered and died on the cross for us.
The Glorious Mysteries celebrate the wonderful events, like Jesus rising from the dead and Mary being taken up to heaven.
When we pray the Rosary, we are asking Mary, Jesus' mother, to pray for us and help us be closer to her Son. Mary always points us to Jesus, and she wants us to love Him and follow His ways.
