Girton's Got Heart 2024

Exciting news! Girton's Got Heart 2024 will be held on Friday 18 October

Girton’s Got Heart is a social evening for all Girton parents at the beautiful Chateau Doré. There will be great food and drinks, live music and a DJ, dancing, silent auctions and a wine wall. Friends of Junior School and Girton Parents and Friends are excited to host this well-loved event!

In addition to friendship raising, the evening will support those in need within our local community by raising money for Annie North Inc. Annie North is a Bendigo-based organisation that provides crisis refuge and transitional support to women, children and young people who are escaping domestic and family violence. Funds raised on the evening will go to Annie North to provide much-needed equipment and supplies so they can continue their great work.

We would love your support to help make this event a success and there are many ways in which you can help. Firstly, please come along! Tickets can be purchased via Trybooking

We are also seeking donations of the following items:

  • goods or services for our silent auction (items up to the value of $500 have been the most popular in the past)
  • high-end food items, toiletries and gifts for our luxury hampers, which will be auctioned on the night
  • bottles of wine for our wine wall.

Please drop off all wine and hamper items at Junior School Reception or Morey Reception.

Additionally, we have sponsorship opportunities available for event items, such as our band/DJ ($1,500) and decorations/flowers ($500), all of which will enhance our fundraising efforts for Annie North Inc.

In accordance with school policies, businesses and families that support our event will be featured in our event advertising, including the Girton Facebook page, Girton eLink newsletter, Girton parent Facebook groups, and communications to the school community promoting the event. We will also ensure recognition is given on the night. Your support will not only benefit a very important local charity, but will also provide great exposure for your business.

Everyone in the Girton community is invited, so please join us for a night of fun, reconnecting with old friends and making new friends. On behalf of the Girton’s Got Heart 2024 Committee, we thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you all in October.

Planning for our annual Speech Night events has commenced, and we are delighted to once again hold our traditional Speech Nights at the Ulumbarra Theatre over three executive evenings:

  • Tuesday 3 December: Junior School (Years 3 to 6)
  • Wednesday 4 December: Senior School (Years 7 to 9)
  • Thursday 5 December: Senior School (Years 10 to 12)

Speech Night is an important cultural signifier for Girton, and allows us a formal opportunity to acknowledge the efforts and achievements of our students in a broad range of academic and co-curricular pursuits.

If you would like to be a Speech Night sponsor, this can be done in a family name, business name or as an individual. Sponsorships will be aligned with individual student prizes to support the school's mission of striving for excellence. Award sponsors will be recognised at Speech Night verbally, on stage and in the Awards Recipient document.

To sponsor an award, simply go to Trybooking and follow the prompts. Your donation will go directly towards the student awards, and we will endeavour to match your donation to a suitable year level and award. Payments are to be made via Trybooking (please note that business donations attract 10% GST).

Sponsorship opportunities will close on Tuesday 22 October. If you have any queries, please contact Ms Kristi Mitchell on 5441 3114 or via email at events@girton.vic.edu.au

Thank you for considering sponsorship of student prizes for Girton Grammar School's 2024 Speech Night.

The PTV information hub at the Bendigo Marketplace closed on 30 August 2024, and records of PTV School Student IDs, Victorian Student Passes and Regional Student Passes issued at this hub have been relocated to Bendigo Station.

This change will have minimal impact to the services provided in the Bendigo area. Students don’t need to do anything, unless their pass or student ID has been lost, stolen or damaged. If they do need to replace their pass or ID, they can visit Bendigo Station, which will have their details.

For more information, go online, visit one of the six staffed train stations in the Bendigo area, or call 1800 800 007.
