Grade 3 and 4

What's Been Happening?

How is it week 3 already?! We have settled back nicely into our classroom routines and are looking forward to spending term for working collaboratively, exploring new experiences (including grade 4 camp later in the term!)

Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden

Spring has definitely sprung in our beautiful garden with delicious fruit and vegetables displaying a beautiful array of colours and aromas. Classes have been busily tending to the gardens; fertilising, weeding and harvesting. We have made some delicious pizzas in our sessions with combinations many of our students haven't had before, but they definitely loved! These include Silverbeet and Leek, and Potato and Rosemary pizzas, needless to say there weren't many leftovers from these sessions.

Maths

Our students have been exploring the topic of time for the first few weeks back and having lots of fun creating interactive clocks, solving duration problems and working in a 'timely' way! Here are some of our students amazing group work constructions.

Literacy

This term we have been reading and responding to the novel, "The One And Only Ivan."

We have had a focus on persuasive techniques and letter writing, along with fluency practice reading with fluency pairs and building on and extending vocabulary.

We look forward to the weeks ahead enjoying the time with our classes and making the most of our learning opportunities together.
