Principal's Report

Through our Gospel this week we encounter a healing story which vividly illustrates Jesus’ power to bring about transformation and restoration. Just as Isaiah prophesied a time when the blind would see, the deaf would hear, and the mute would speak, Jesus fulfills this promise through His miracles. This Gospel passage invites us to reflect on how we can bring about positive change and healing in our educational environments.

As part of National Teacher Aide week this week, we celebrate and thank our amazing LSO staff and the important work they do. Much like Jesus’ compassionate act of healing, their interactions with students can have transformative effects. Whether it’s through a listening ear, encouraging words, or helping to unlock a student’s potential, they have a unique opportunity to help open doors to understanding and growth.

MAGNIFY SANDHURST

Today each family will receive a letter via email explaining a very important initiative that is being undertaken by the 55 schools that come under the banner of Catholic Education Sandhurst. This initiative is known as ‘Magnify Sandhurst’ and it has significant implications for how all schools will go about their learning and teaching from 2025 onwards. Part of this will be the whole diocese engaging in professional learning together. Therefore, I ask you to note the predetermined Pupil Free Days that are already locked in for 2025. This is an extremely exciting and long overdue initiative that has the capacity to dramatically impact student learning.

HATS ON!

This week we welcomed spring and whilst it took a few days to kick in, it was wonderful to see the sun finally shining today. With this incoming sunshine, we also enact our sunsmart policy of ‘No Hat, No Play’ for the remainder of the year. Please ensure your child has a clearly NAMED hat at school.

GRADE 4 CAMP

All reports from the Grade 4 camp to Camp Kookaburra have been that a great time was had by everyone involved. Students should be proud of the way they positively interacted with each other throughout the camp and the enthusiasm they showed in giving all activities a go.

ARTS ON SHOW

Next Wednesday, our Grade 5 students will represent Holy Rosary at the Sandhurst Arts on Show event at St. Francis of the Fields. Sandhurst Arts on Show is a biennial event and a collaboration between the Catholic Education Office Sandhurst, The Australian School of Performing Arts, and Sandhurst Primary schools. Within their Performing Arts lessons during Term 2 and 3, students have worked with ASPA educators to prepare song and dance items to perform on the day. We wish them all the best on this exciting day.

Have a great week!
