There was a real buzz in the air on Thursday morning as we started transforming the gym. We’ve had a fun-filled two days with some outstanding performances from our kids.
A huge thank you to all of the parents, carers, staff and students who contributed to make it a success. I hope you managed to have a read of the program which beautifully outlines each and every contribution. A special shout out to Michael Grech, Clare Ridgway, Amanda McConaghy and Billie Georgieff who all went above and beyond for our kids!!
Mrs Paech has worked tirelessly to bring this event to fruition. We thank her for the many months of work, and for her commitment to providing these opportunities for our students. We really are incredibly lucky to have such passionate staff members at SMPPS!
In Term 4, 2024, families with a child enrolled in a government school from Prep to Year 12 in 2025 will receive the one-off $400 School Saving Bonus. The Bonus provides families with support for education-related costs, such as school activities and/or school uniforms and textbooks. To receive the Bonus, you need to ensure your contact information is up to date as the Department of Education will email you twice:
Please check your junk mail regularly to make sure you do not miss an important email. To learn more about the School Saving Bonus, refer to Christine’s post on Compass or download the School Saving Bonus Information sheet for government school parents and carers or visit vic.gov.au/school-saving-bonus.
It is with gratitude and sadness that we say goodbye to one of our Education Support staff, Justin Sweeney. Justin has been a much loved member of staff since 2021. He has had an enormous impact on so many children and we will all miss him dearly.
You might have noticed that we now have turf in front of the breakfast club. It’s quite lush and the children are loving having a place to sit and chat with friends, out of the elements. We’re looking forward to the next two turf instalments, on the Southern end of the terrace and in the space between the gym and the playground.
Our final assembly for the term will be held at the special time of 9.10am on Friday, 20th September. Families welcome!
Given this is the last newsletter for the term, I’d like to wish you all a relaxing and safe holiday. We’ll see you back on Monday, 7th of October for a fantastic Term 4.
