Mr William Geeves
We encourage parents and carers to maintain open communication with their son’s Pastoral Care teacher, particularly when there are external circumstances that may impact his wellbeing or ability to engage positively in College life.
Changes or challenges outside of school can understandably influence a young person’s engagement, behaviour and relationships at the College. Where appropriate, sharing this information allows us to better understand your son's circumstances and ensure the right support is in place.
We would much rather be aware of these factors early and work proactively alongside families to support your son, rather than respond to behaviours without understanding the circumstances that may be contributing to them. If there is anything you feel we should be aware of, please don’t hesitate to make contact with your son’s Pastoral Care teacher.
2027 Senior Leadership Applications and Interviews
We are delighted to have received such a strong number of applications from students seeking Senior Leadership positions for 2027. It has been wonderful to see so many students willing to step forward and contribute to the life and leadership of our College.
Interviews with candidates will take place over the next couple of weeks. We ask parents and carers to please encourage their son to keep a close eye on his College emails during this time. Students will receive details of their interview via email, along with a calendar invitation confirming the date, time and location.
We wish all candidates the very best throughout the interview process and thank them for their willingness to serve our College community.
Safe and Responsible Technology Use with Qustodio
Our Qustodio Parent App is now up and running, providing parents and carers with an additional tool to support their son’s safe and responsible use of technology.
Families are encouraged to refer to the information previously shared via EdSmart and the College newsletter, which includes details on how to register for your free Qustodio Parent account. These communications also provide access to our Online Parent Information Evening, which offers an overview of the platform, its key features and how families can make the most of the tools available.
We strongly encourage families who have not yet registered to take the opportunity to explore Qustodio and establish their free account. Working in partnership with families remains an important part of supporting our young people to develop positive, safe and responsible digital habits both at the College and at home.
Supporting Healthy Screen Time Habits at Home
Managing screen time can become increasingly challenging as young people enter their teenage years. With devices playing an important role in learning, communication and social connection, establishing healthy and realistic boundaries remains an important part of supporting their wellbeing.
This article from our Online Safety Hub provides practical advice for families of teenagers aged 13–15, including involving young people in setting boundaries, protecting sleep by keeping devices out of bedrooms overnight, maintaining device-free times and staying engaged with what your son is doing online. It also highlights the importance of helping teenagers gradually develop the self-regulation skills required to build a healthy and balanced relationship with technology.
