Hello, from Carolyn.

Hello everyone,
Fake squishies!
Many of our students, especially our F-2 students, are bringing squishy toys to school. Unfortunately, lots of those squishies are breaking causing distress for the students who get the contents on their skin and clothing, and sometimes, on their hands and into their mouths and then there is the mess that staff are having to clean up. The article below was in The Age newspaper this week and details the problems with many squishies that are cheap, 'fake' and contain chemicals that if swallowed, can cause problems.
Due to the daily problems we are having with squishies we have made the decision that if a student brings a squishy to school, it will stay in their bag for the day. If your child sees a specialist, and the specialist's recommendations about using a squishy are included in your child's support plan, then your child can bring a squishy into the classroom.
Thank you for your support with this matter.

Getting to school on time!

I hope that our late arrivals don't get any worse, one day this week we had 24 students arriving late!! 24! That is a large number of students arriving into their classrooms after the learning day has started; teachers have to stop their instruction and catch those students up with what the grade is doing. Can everyone please do their very best to be here by 8:45am.
