Meal Train Help
**HELP NEEDED PLEASE: Meal Train for Marist Family Support**
We have a family of 3 adults who need our support over the coming weeks.
If anyone could spare some time to make a meal for this family, it would be greatly appreciated. Please clink on the link below to access the meal train and register.
- A pre-prepared meal that is easy to freeze or reheat is preferred.
- One of the recipients is gluten-free.
- Please drop off to the school Tuckshop between 9:00am and 2:pm.
Thank you so much in advance for your help. These meals make life just a little easier for families in need of our help.
Jane and Cassandra, Marist Family Support
Term 2 P&F Meeting
Please note the Term 2 P&F meeting is presently being re-scheduled from the date in the College Calendar. It will most likely be in June. Confirmed date to follow in next week’s newsletter.
Marist Card & Games Day - Raffle Coordinator
Are you one of those people who love to shop, excel at wrapping gifts, all the while promoting College spirit?
We are looking for the next Raffle Coordinator (or Coordinators - grab a friend) for Marist Card and Games Day. Our current Coordinator is a Year 12 Mum, so now's the time to shadow her before she leaves at the end of 2025.
Time-commitment-wise, the role requires about one day per term for shopping and wrapping, and the morning of Card and Games Day (always a Wednesday) to deliver the prizes and to oversee raffle ticket sales.
If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Michelle Mead on carddaypandf@marash.qld.edu.au.
Marist Card & Games Day - Volunteers for 30 April
The P&F will be hosting our next Marist Card & Games Day on Wednesday, 30 April. To make these days a success, we need parent helpers to assist with baking or supplying items for morning tea and/or attending on the day to set up and serve our guests.
If you can assist with sweet or savoury baked goods (we have a warming oven), they can be dropped off at the Br Cyprian Pavilion from 8:00am (or sent in with your son). Disposable containers are preferred but other containers will be sent back to Student Administration if not collected on the day (please ensure your name is on all containers). Please either pre‑cut items or ensure that they can be cut into bitesize pieces.
Volunteers for the day are needed for the following sessions:
- 8:00am – 10:30am – setup and serve morning tea
- 11:30am – 1:30pm – setup and serve lunch
- 2:00pm – 2:30pm – final clean-up and pack down
Volunteers are most welcome to assist for all or part of the day. It is a great way to meet other parents from many different year levels, as well as contributing to an enjoyable day for guests from the community.
We also conduct a raffle for which items are sought from parents or businesses (e.g. movie tickets, wine, coffee, chocolates, nice smelling things, vouchers, etc.). They can be sent into Student Administration in the week leading up to Card & Games Day. If you don't have time to shop, consider sending in a gift voucher (e.g. Coles Myer) and our Raffle Coordinator will source the prizes.
If you are able to help by baking/supplying items for morning tea, assisting on the day, or providing an item for the raffle, please contact Sue Hartfiel (0423 076 603) or Ann Rainbow (0411 482 792) at email: CardDayPandF@marash.qld.edu.au.
Sports Canteen
Canteens are back for another huge Term 2. Thank you to the following 17 volunteers for their generous assistance to get us moving for the opening fixture on Saturday:
Melissa Ashman, Cath Clarke, Bridget Gardiner, Sue Hartfiel, Jennifer Kelly, Karen Jackson, Lauren Lavea (2 hours this term), Alicia Lee, Brendan Lynn, Donna Lynn (2 hours this term), Nicole McClure (2 hours this term), Kylie McGauley, Nicola O’Ryan, Jen Roberts, Sarah Ryan, Jane Wilcox (2 hours this term), Kristen Mountjoy.
Our sports canteens remain the pride of the AIC for quality and reliability. The canteens operate as a partnership between MCA staff and parent volunteers. Term 2 is always where we need the greatest number of volunteers to work through the many coffees, burgers, and cold drinks that keep everyone’s Saturday afloat.
The P&F ask that families with a son playing sport consider offering just one hour of service in any canteen, on any week across the term. There are roughly 400 one-hour volunteer slots to fill for each term – so there are plenty of options to work with. Our regular volunteers frequently report how much they enjoy their time in the canteens.
Come and join us, meet some new people and be part of a vital link for all our AIC families, adding just a little respite to everyone’s Saturday schedule.
Flats Canteen:
Grandstand Canteen - McMahon:
Coffee Van – McMahon:
(To limit food waste and enable necessary logistics for the day, decisions are made on Friday afternoon to open late, or close early for the coming Saturday’s canteens if volunteer numbers are too low to service the advertised opening hours. Please assist us by signing up by 12pm Friday wherever possible.)
Sports Canteens - Volunteer Coordinator
The P&F are seeking someone who can shadow the call for sports canteen volunteers for Term 2 and Term 3 with a view to taking this on in 2026. (Support will also be available in 2026 to ensure an effective transition). Please contact Donna Lynn at Presidentpandf@marash.qld.edu.au if you would like to find out more or are interested in trialling an obligation-free shadow period.
