Another long weekend, a very important day, to acknowledge those who have fought for our Country. Students undertook their final session of tennis coaching yesterday.

Next Tuesday afternoon we have the House Cross Country. Parents and friends are welcome to come along and cheer students over the finish line.

Uniform

The mornings are a lot cooler now. A reminder that students are to wear the College jumper. Please ensure it is named. If you find you are in need of a new one, supplies are available from the Heenan’s Newsagency, or you may be lucky to get a good quality pre-loved one from the second-hand shop at school for $2, Contact Heidi Gibbeson.

SWPBS

This term our focus is on the value of Respect. Respect is vital for healthy relationships, personal well-being, and a functional society. Respect helps individuals feel safe, express themselves freely, and develop a sense of self-worth.

Weekly Wrap: Year 9

Our Year 9's cleaning the Canteen!

Year 9 IT:

The Year 9s have started the term by revising what binary code is, and how it is used in computing. On Monday, the class explored how colours are encoded with binary and how red, green and blue light is used to produce all the colours that humans can see. Over the next week, the class will look at how data can be compressed, in order to reduce the amount of storage required to store files, and to make the transmission of information easier.

Year 9 English:

In Year 9 English this week we began our novel study of ‘The Road to Winter’ by Mark Smith. The students explored the concept of ‘dystopia’ and considered what they would do if they were the last person on Earth. The students will be working diligently to write their own dystopian-themed story in the same style as Mark Smith. Watch this space!
