Weekly Wrap: Foundation
Foundation has hit the ground running in Term 2. In Numeracy, we have started using our ‘ninja sliders’ to partition numbers. During Reading and Spelling, we have almost learnt the first 26 letters and sounds of our phonics program, and are practising using them to read and spell words. In our Language and Literature classes, we are studying Traditional Stories. Our first story was ‘Chicken Little’, so we’re going to put some eggs in an incubator and see if we can hatch some real chickens in the classroom! We’ll be counting down the days and will put an update in the newsletter when they hatch! Thank you to Miss Bishop and Harry’s family for supporting this learning experience. We were also lucky to have a visit from Matilda’s pet, ‘Lambert’ after assembly on Monday. She was very cute and brought plenty of giggles, curiosity and excitement.
