Buloke Youth Health Expo

It’s on again! The Buloke Youth Health Expo is bringing together Year 9 and 10 students from the five secondary schools in the Buloke Shire on Tuesday 20th of May at Birchip Recreation Reserve.

The working group has put together a fantastic program with a focus on health & lifestyle issues faced by young people.

More information will be shared in next week’s newsletter including travel details, lunch, what to take and what will be provided.

Headlice

In recent weeks we have had a number of cases of headlice in our school. We ask that parents are attentive in checking their child/ren’s hair and treat as soon as possible if necessary. Attached to the newsletter is a document regarding some information about headlice and the appropriate treatments. Please contact Jess McGurk at the College if you require any information or support in treating headlice.

Catholic Care Victoria (CCV)- Parent programs & workshops

Over the year, CCV run a wide-range of one-off parent programs, as well as lengthier workshops. The delivery is both online & face-to-face & addresses a range of range of useful topics. Some programs are free, however some attract a cost.

Each term they publish a calendar which will feature on the Parent’s Bulletin. In the past, a number of staff & families have participated in CCV programs & have spoken very highly of them. Please see the attached flyer as to what’s on offer in Term 2.

Register at: www.catholiccarevic.org.au/register

CCV also offer single session parent consultations which are available on weekdays, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm. Consultations are offered via phone, online via Zoom, or face-to-face. To book a single-session parent consultation, call the Bendigo office reception on (03) 5438 1300.

Headspace Regional Phone Counselling Service

A reminder that the headspace Regional Phone Counselling Service is still available for our secondary students to access. Some students feel more comfortable chatting with someone over the phone rather than face to face & this service provides confidential access to experienced counsellors. A number of our students have utilised this service in the past & have found it very useful. Please see Jess or Tash if you would be interested in receiving more information or arranging a referral.
