Principal's Report

Term 2

As we progress through the year, it’s hard to believe we’ve already passed the halfway mark of Term 2. Students and staff are fully engaged in their learning programs, and we greatly value the community’s involvement in our recent open morning and events held across both campuses.

With the arrival of the colder winter months, we are noticing a rise in illness throughout the school. As a result, there may be periods of increased staff and student absences, which can occasionally impact daily routines. If your child’s teacher is away for an extended time, we kindly ask that you copy the relevant section leader into any email correspondence to help ensure timely communication. We also want to extend our sincere thanks to all families for your continued support and proactive approach when your child is unwell.

Education Week

This year, the theme of Education Week was Celebration of Cultures. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to take part in a range of activities highlighting the diversity of our community and the importance of every child feeling safe and welcome at school.

During Education Week, we also held our Special Person’s afternoon/Mother’s Day event at the Watsonia Campus and our Open Morning at the Bundoora Campus. Thank you to those who were able to attend. Our students really enjoyed taking part in activities and sharing and celebrating their learning with family, friends, teachers and peers.

2025 School Photos

School Photos will be taking place on Monday the 2nd of June at the Bundoora Campus and Monday the 30th of June at the Watsonia Campus.

You are able to order school photos on Compass, under the 'Community' tab. If you are having issues with accessing or purchasing these, please contact the school office.

National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The theme in 2025, Bridging Now to Next, reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future.

As part of National Reconciliation Week, we are holding an Out of Uniform Day on Friday, 30th May where we are inviting all students to come to school wearing something yellow. The colour yellow symbolises hope, unity, and a positive future, and is often worn during National Reconciliation Week to show support for reconciliation.

This is a great opportunity for our school community to come together in the spirit of understanding, respect, and celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories.

North East Link Community Fund Update

We are incredibly grateful to the North East Community Fund for their generous contribution of $65,000 towards the construction of our new cubby houses and nature play area at the Watsonia Campus. Thanks to this support, Concord School students now have an exciting and engaging outdoor space that enhances their learning and play experiences.
